PowerUp America Secures Major Award through GDOT NEVI Round 2 to Expand Fast Charging Across Georgia

For Immediate Release

PowerUp America is honored to announce that the Georgia Department of Transportation has selected our team for eleven new fast charging locations through the federal NEVI Round Two program. This award strengthens PowerUp America’s commitment to building a reliable, American made EV charging network that serves communities across the state. The selected sites include Pine Mountain, Waycross, Midway, Pearson, Milledgeville, Carrollton, Ball Ground, East Ellijay, Cornelia, Bremen, and Blakely.

“This award reflects the hard work and preparation our team has put in to build a best in class charging network for Georgia. We are fully prepared to move these projects into construction and deliver infrastructure that communities can rely on every day. PowerUp is proud to help strengthen Georgia’s energy future with solutions that are built to last and made to serve the people of this state.” said Jessie Hensley, President of PowerUp America.

As the largest awardee in Georgia for this funding round, PowerUp America will deploy a next generation network of high performance fast chargers designed to improve travel, support local businesses, and promote economic growth in rural and urban communities alike.

“This award marks a significant step forward for PowerUp and for the state of Georgia. Our team has worked tirelessly to build a model that blends American made infrastructure, strong community partnerships, and long term operational excellence. We are grateful for the trust placed in us, and we are fully committed to delivering charging solutions that families, businesses, and travelers can depend on every day. These sites represent meaningful progress for economic opportunity, workforce development, and a cleaner future for the communities we are privileged to serve.” said Josh Turner, CEO of PowerUp America.

PowerUp is also proud to spotlight its partnership with Southwire. Southwire’s Georgia made electrical products will serve as a core component of every awarded site, reinforcing the broader commitment to domestic manufacturing and state based job creation.

“We are very excited for PowerUp on the award of these sites in Georgia and look forward to continuing our relationship with such an innovative company. PowerUp’s efforts to integrate Southwire’s Cable in Conduit to improve installation speed, enhance safety, reduce jobsite risk, and future proof each location reflects a strong commitment to smart planning and forward thinking.” said Bill Fowler, Business Development Director, eMobility Infrastructure Solutions at Southwire.

In addition to infrastructure development, PowerUp America is advancing workforce opportunities across the state. In partnership with the Technical College System of Georgia, PowerUp will launch an educational scholarship initiative connected to these NEVI sites. This program will help develop skilled technicians and provide students with direct pathways into the energy and electrical trades that support Georgia’s future.

PowerUp America looks forward to working closely with GDOT, Southwire, local communities, and industry partners to deliver a charging network that supports drivers, builds local opportunity, and showcases the strength of American made solutions.
