RALEIGH, N.C., SEPTEMBER 14, 2026 — PowerUp America today announced it has been selected for four new funding awards through the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program, expanding the company’s fast charging footprint across the state.

The new awards will bring public DC fast charging stations to Chocowinity, Plymouth, Wadesboro, and Whiteville, expanding access to reliable charging for residents, travelers, and communities along North Carolina’s transportation corridors.

Kempower will supply the DC fast charging equipment for the new stations, continuing its partnership with PowerUp America. The projects carry an additional North Carolina connection, with Kempower’s North American headquarters and manufacturing operations located in Durham.
